Nigerian passport holders could travel to a few European countries without a visa. However, please note that visa-free travel policies are subject to change and are often updated by governments in response to various factors such as political events, security concerns, and immigration patterns.
At the time of writing this post based on my research, the following European countries allowed Nigerian passport holders to enter without a visa:
The United Kingdom
Nigerian citizens can enter the United Kingdom without a visa for short stays of up to 6 months for tourism or business purposes. However, travelers will need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before arrival.
Georgia
Nigerian citizens could enter Georgia without a visa and stay for up to 360 days.
Kosovo
Nigerian passport holders could enter Kosovo without a visa and stay for up to 90 days within 180 days.
Serbia
Nigerian citizens could enter Serbia without a visa and stay for up to 90 days within 6 months.
Turkey
Nigerian passport holders could enter Turkey without a visa and stay for up to 90 days within 180 days.
Ukraine
Nigerian passport holders can enter Ukraine without a visa for stays of up to 90 days within 180 days.
Belarus
Nigerian citizens can visit Belarus without a visa for stays of up to 30 days, but they must arrive and depart from Minsk International Airport.
Montenegro
Nigerian passport holders can enter Montenegro without a visa for stays of up to 30 days.
North Macedonia
Nigerian citizens can enter North Macedonia without a visa for stays of up to 90 days within 180 days.
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Nigerian passport holders can enter Bosnia and Herzegovina without a visa for stays of up to 90 days within 180 days.
Cyprus
Nigerian citizens can enter Cyprus without a visa for stays of up to 90 days within 180 days.
Croatia
Nigerian passport holders can enter Croatia without a visa for stays of up to 90 days within 180 days.
Azerbaijan
Nigerian citizens can enter Azerbaijan without a visa for stays of up to 30 days but must register with the State Migration Service within three days of arrival.
Albania
Nigerian citizens can enter Albania without a visa for stays of up to 90 days within 180 days.
Armenia
Nigerian citizens can enter Armenia without a visa for stays of up to 180 days within 365 days.
Moldova
Nigerian passport holders can enter Moldova without a visa for stays of up to 90 days within 180 days.
Ireland
Although not technically part of continental Europe, Nigerian passport holders can visit Ireland without a visa for stays of up to 90 days within 180 days.
Andorra
Nigerian citizens can enter Andorra without a visa for stays of up to 90 days.
Liechtenstein
Nigerian citizens can enter Liechtenstein without a visa for stays of up to 90 days within 180 days.
Switzerland
Nigerian citizens can enter Switzerland without a visa for stays of up to 90 days within 180 days.
In addition to the countries I listed earlier, Nigerian passport holders can also enter certain territories or regions in Europe without a visa. These include:
French Guiana
A territory of France located in South America, Nigerian citizens can visit French Guiana without a visa for up to 90 days.
Guadeloupe
An overseas region of France located in the Caribbean, Nigerian passport holders can enter Guadeloupe without a visa for up to 90 days.
Martinique
In another overseas region of France located in the Caribbean, Nigerian citizens can visit Martinique without a visa for up to 90 days.
Réunion
A French overseas department located in the Indian Ocean, Nigerian passport holders can enter Réunion without a visa for up to 90 days.
The Republic of Ireland
Nigerian passport holders can enter the Republic of Ireland without a visa for short stays of up to 90 days for tourism or business purposes.
San Marino
Nigerian passport holders can enter San Marino without a visa for stays of up to 90 days.
Vatican City
Nigerian citizens can visit the Vatican City without a visa for stays of up to 90 days.
Montserrat
Nigerian passport holders can enter Montserrat, a British overseas territory in the Caribbean, without a visa for stays of up to 180 days.
Uzbekistan
Nigerian passport holders can visit Uzbekistan for up to 30 days without a visa.
Kazakhstan
Nigerian citizens can enter Kazakhstan without a visa for stays of up to 30 days.
Kyrgyzstan
Nigerian passport holders can enter Kyrgyzstan without a visa for stays of up to 60 days.
North Cyprus
Nigerian passport holders can enter North Cyprus without a visa for stays of up to 90 days.
It is important to note that even though Nigerian passport holders can enter these countries without a visa, they may still need to provide evidence of sufficient funds for their stay, a valid return ticket, and a passport with a validity of at least six months beyond the intended length of stay. Some countries may also require visitors to register with the local authorities upon arrival.
